What is Haiku at work?
It is a place for you to post Haikus. Anonymously or under your account to share with the world

What is a Haiku?
A form of Japanese poetry which has three lines focused on a single element or idea, composed of three unrhymed lines of five, seven, and five syllables.

So I can only post about work or while at work?
No, you can post about anything, anytime. All I ask is that you don’t use excessive foul language and tag them properly for others to find similar haikus. The idea is that people are often bored at work, what a better way to kill time then to write simple poems.

What are these tags I have to put with my haiku?
Tags are a way for you to tell others what the haiku is about, so they can find haikus that are about the same topic. You can only have 2 tags. Separate them with a comma ,

Why only 2 tags?
Do you really need more then 2 for a 3 line poem?

Where did you come up with the idea?
My friend Dave came up with the initial idea one day. I though it sounded pretty cool so I made it happen. Enjoy! I would also like to give huge thanks to Peter for general web programming and design help. Also the super friendly django community

What did you use to make the site?
The site is built using python and the framework Django. It uses Django-tagging for the tags and Django-vote for the voting system. The thumb up and down come from the Silk Icon set

Do I have to sign up?
No, you can post all you want without signing up. Signing up will allow you to rate haikus, add them to your favorites, and allow others to see all the haikus made by you.

Why would I want to rate haikus?
When you rate a haiku up or down, it will add or subtract from that users score.

What is the number next to my name and how does it affect anything?
Score is that number next to your name. Really it doesn’t affect anything. But writing good haikus that others like and rate up improves your score. Thus making you feel good about yourself and your awesome haikus.

Why isn’t there a list of top and bottom haikus?
Every site with a rating system everyone’s first move is to seethe top ##. I want people to read new or random ones. Just click the top haikus and give them more points.

How does reporting work?
Come across a haiku that is not really a haiku, or contains excessive foul language? Report it! So it can be looked at and determined if it needs to be taken down.

Oh no, indeed. A number of your haikus have been reported. Your account and haikus are being looked at. Please give it some time.

We respect your privacy! Any and all information collected at this site will be kept strictly confidential. This site contains links to other sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web site. We may use outside companies to display ads on our site. What about the posting policy?
I hate legal speak so I am going to put this in simple terms. When you post a haiku here, it becomes mine. I reserve to the right to edit, delete or do what ever I deem necessary to them.
